Team Quest MMA-Coach Lindland Headed To The Olympic Training Center

from www.coachmattlindland.com

This week I’m heading to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Not to train for the Olympics or the World Championships like I have in the past. This trip I’m going as a coach, to help prepare the Olympic Team for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. I love going to the OTC!  I have so many memories of training and preparing to be the best in the world. You can feel the spirit of the Olympic movement; you are in a positive, energy charged environment. I enjoy be surrounded and inspired by the attitudes of the men that are training. These men are positive goal oriented individuals. The feeling can be infections when you are surrounded by greatness.

I am humbled by the opportunity to be one of the coaches. For the past decade I’ve been asked to come coach and be part of the program. I always wanted to be a part of the coaching staff and give back to the US Olympic team, but with a family and two children to raise, my first priorities were to them. Now with both my kids going to college, I feel the timing is right to be a part of the coaching staff.

I am looking forward to the opportunity to surround myself with our country’s greatest combat athletes, as well as the other coaches that have accomplished so many great things. Not to mention I get to see some of my best friends that I spent years training with and competing with.
